Všichni příznivci bluegrassu teď hledí směrem k americkému městu Louisville, kde se právě dnes, tedy 17. října 2002, budou již po třinácté udělovat výroční Mezinárodní bluegrassové ceny (IBMA). Průvodci slavnostního ceremoniálu letošního ročníku budou Patty Loveless a Ricky Skaggs. Mezi nominovanými letošního ročníku jsou mimojiné Ralph Stanley, Del McCoury Band či soundtrack Down From The Mountain. Kompletní seznam nominovaných uvádíme na závěr tohoto příspěvku.
Předávání cen IBMA však není zdaleka jedinou bluegrassovou událostí, která se v Louisville bude tento týden konat. O víkendu se zde totiž uskuteční Bluegrass Fan Fest, jehož koncertní program by se bez nadsázky dal popsat termínem „kdo je kdo v bluegrassu.“ V programu festivalu totiž vystoupí mimojiné IIIrd Tyme Out, the Del McCoury Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, J.D. Crowe & the New South, Tim O’Brien či the Yonder Mountain String Band.
